Nourishing one's body is an act of love.
Creating new forms to feed oneself does nourish desire.
Pandora Design was born from the catering experience in 1998, involving the direct management of catering service for important events (Romeo Gigli, Luceplan, Tecno, Mila Schon, Caractère, Napapjiri, Wallpaper, Krizia, Camper, Omnitel, Agape and many other leading companies). Hence the need for a new generation of utensils and cutlery to be high quality both for look and functionality, and Daniela Danzi, driving force of Pandora Design, indicates the direction: disposable tools for the contemporary table.
When food changes its distinctive features, when the approach to food itself turns into something new, the table utensils feel confused, inadequate, like old objects forced to resign themselves to the force of innovation. Replacing the elements of a ritual implies the urgency of creating a new pleasure in conviviality with a spirit not to be overwhelmed by the use of the objects, with a light but permanent sign, simple but precious, useful but not addicted to style.
Explaining in a few words is difficult, anyway the aim of Pandora Design is presenting objects that by their function are destined to be thrown away, but by their form do recall longer uses, capable of communicating the care and attention thanks to which they were conceived, designed and produced.
In 2001, the jury of the 19th Compasso D'oro award was rewarding Pandora Design giving credit to it for the valuable research in the field of disposable items, raising the standards of consumer goods production with the advantage of biodegradability. We're talking about Moscardino and Clack cutlery, also made out of Mater-bì, a compound of corn starch 100% biodegradable
(for more information www.materbi.com).
Pandora Design is chosen by everyone who is looking for a product that is both functional and characterized by a top-level design. The Cooper-Hewitt museum and the Moma of New York, the most famous museums worldwide for contemporary art, do display and sell the products of Pandora Design, and also “Maestro di Casa” - Italian leading banqueting company – regularly chooses our products, and for example the brand Bulgari, on the occasion of the inauguration of its first hotel in Milan, used some Pandora Design products that were designed specifically for the event.
